Leather printing process

There are several ways to print leather, and each printing method has its own unique characteristics. Below, we will introduce their characteristics:
a. Firstly, of course, it is dye printing, and the biggest advantage of dye printing is that the feel is not affected. However, leather cannot withstand high temperature steaming, so LOGE cannot copy the textile process. There is a series of dyes abroad, mainly 1:2 type metal complex dyes. It is not necessary to steam and air dry when printing leather. However, this type of dye is expensive and only has a strength of 30% to 50% of that of ordinary dyes, making it very troublesome to encounter deep colors. A series of dyes were selected from textile printing dyes, with a fastness comparable to imported ones, bright colors, high strength, and only slightly poor light fastness. They can be printed on leather and dried without steaming or washing.
b. Next is pigment printing, which is the largest type of printing in leather printing. Because pigment printing can express gold and silver color, coupled with hot film, the product is ever-changing and can maximize the expression of the noble and luxurious characteristics of leather.
c. Transfer printing: Transfer printing is the most suitable printing method for leather, divided into dry and wet methods according to the process. Dry transfer is often achieved by using thermosols to make ink, which is printed on release paper or BOPP film, and then transferred to leather under hot pressing conditions. Wet transfer involves spraying a special solution onto the leather. Then, by hot pressing, the dye on the transfer paper is dissolved in a solution and then fixed on the leather. Leather transfer printing is currently the most high-end printing method on leather, with a fine pattern and visual effect that cannot be compared to other methods.
